The Pee Dee State Farmers Market is in full bloom for its 2012 spring and summer season. The Spring Plant & Flower Festival is overflowing with vibrant color at this year’s event to be held April 12-15. The activities begin at 8 a. m. and run until 6 p. m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s hours will be noon until 5 p. m.

The festival is also a great place to get useful products and helpful information on many topics of interest to gardeners and consumers. The Florence County Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and dispense friendly advice. They will also host several gardening seminars during the weekend. A variety of South Carolina Certified products will be available for purchase, in addition to acres of plants, flowers, trees, shrubs, outdoor furniture, lawn and garden equipment and other “must have” items. Food including healthy snacks and treats will be available. This is a family-friendly event which has been enjoyed by thousands of people each year since its inception in 1985.

The Pee Dee State Farmers Market is located at 2513 W. Lucas St. (US Highway 52) between Florence and Darlington. The market adds more vendors just for the festival weekend.
